Si vous le voulez, voici une lettre que vous pouvez envoyer au Président Tanzanien via l'ambassade tanzanienne de votre pays
His Excellency
Jakaya Kikwete
President of the Republic of Tanzania
<Today’s Date>
Dear President Kikwete
While I understand and support the need for Tanzania to develop her cities and natural resources, I think that the Tanzanian decision to construct a highway across the Serengeti the greatest threat in the Serengeti’s history, and will destroy a globally important heritage, the great Wildebeest migration.
Scientists have warned that the highway which is in the direct path of ancient wildlife migration routes will destroy the migration and will have disastrous effects on the entire ecosystem. The northern parts of the Serengeti and the adjacent Masai Mara are critical for the wildebeest and zebra migration during the dry season, as it is the only permanent year-round water source for these herds.
I appeal to you and the government of Tanzania to stop the planned construction of this highway and choose an alternate route that offers a safer alternative route to the south which bypasses Serengeti altogether. Please listen to the voices of millions of people world wide, and do not damage the legacy of your first president, Julius Nyerere who gave the Tanzania global recognition for conservation achievements. A reputation which your country still enjoys.
Yours Sincerely
<your name, address, and contacts>
